What Is Skin Rejuvenation?
Skin rejuvenation treatments are designed to dramatically improve texture irregularities, uneven tone, and the overall look and health of the skin. The facial and body skin can be rejuvenated in a number of ways, including laser resurfacing, dermal fillers, fat injections, and medical-grade skin care products.
Benefits of Skin Rejuvenation
Skin rejuvenation treatments have revolutionized the medical aesthetic industry by allowing patients to resolve a number of skin imperfections in a safe, effective, and nonsurgical manner. Some of the skin imperfections that skin rejuvenation treatments can dramatically improve without surgery include:
- Tell-tale signs of aging, such as expression lines, wrinkles, and creases
- Pigmented lesions such as sun spots
- Uneven skin tone
- Blemishes and clogged, enlarged pores
Dermatologic surgery is a discipline within dermatology that involves the surgical treatment of various skin conditions and disorders. These procedures may be performed on the outermost layer of the skin or deep beyond the skin’s surface, depending on the severity of the patient’s condition.
Laser skin resurfacing is a cosmetic procedure that softens and minimizes the appearance of skin imperfections. During this procedure, the skin is rejuvenated with a laser that ablates damaged skin cells layer by layer until the skin is smoother and more even in tone and texture.
Injectable cosmetics are used to enhance a variety of facial imperfections. Dermal fillers can:
- Add volume and shape to thin lips
- Plump shallow contours of the face
- Soften the appearance of facial wrinkles and creases
- Make recessed scars more level and uniform with the rest of the facial skin
Botulinum toxin, more commonly referred to as Botox®, is the most popular injectable cosmetic in the U.S. for improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Botox® was first used to temporarily weaken muscles and treat medical conditions such as migraines and muscle spasms long before it was injected for cosmetic purposes. This injectable cosmetic works by blocking nerve receptors in the facial muscles, which temporarily weakens the injected muscle’s ability to contract and gives the treated area a smoother, more youthful appearance.
Belotero® Balance is an injectable cosmetic that’s derived from hyaluronic acid, one of the main building blocks of youthful skin. This injectable dermal filler is used to fill in more moderate to severe fine lines and wrinkles. While other fillers, such as Juvederm®, Perlane®, and Restylane®, can leave a bluish tint on the skin following treatment, which is known as the Tyndall-effect, Belotero® Balance does not produce skin discolorations. Since Belotero® Balance is derived from substances that are naturally occurring in the body, allergy testing is not required prior to treatment.
Radiesse® is a volumizing dermal filler that improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by adding subdermal support to aging skin. This injectable filler is formulated using Calcium Hydroxylapatite microspheres, which are suspended in an aqueous gel for injection.
Restylane® is an injectable filler that’s formulated with hyaluronic acid and suspended in a water-based gel to add volume and fullness to the facial skin. This FDA-approved filler is most often used to treat moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles. Restylane® injections are custom-made and formulated to address each patient’s individual needs and cosmetic concerns.
This cosmetic injectable is the first and only of its kind, receiving FDA-approval for lifting and plumping the cheeks and nasolabial folds.
Since 2009, skin rejuvenation professionals have used Sculptra® to stimulate the production of new collagen and gradually improve marionette and smile lines caused by the natural aging process. This cosmetic injectable contains a synthetic yet biocompatible and biodegradable powder called poly-L-lactic acid, which is reconstituted in sterile water before injection. Sculptra® is designed to gradually restore lost collagen over a series of injections, making it the ideal skin rejuvenation procedure for patients who desire a more subtle yet longer lasting result.
Micro-Droplet Fat Injections is a type of fat transfer procedure that uses a micro-droplet technique to transfer fat from one area of the body, most often the hips or thighs, to sagging, creased or wrinkled areas of the face. This technique injects microscopic amounts of fat to fill in depressed areas of the face and make the facial skin appear smoother and more even in tone and texture.
This all-in-one skin rejuvenating serum is designed to improve the skin’s tone and texture and age-related imperfections for all skin types. Patients who use the SkinMedica® TNS Essential Serum not only experience dramatic improvements in their fine lines and wrinkles, but they also notice firmer, more youthful skin. Noticeable results can become apparent within four weeks of use, and the maximum results will become more apparent over the course of a few months.
The Natural Face™ Clinics proudly offers this reparative eye cream, which can be used to brighten and nourish the skin around the eyes in normal and dry skin types. With continued use, fine lines and wrinkles, as well as dark circles, will gradually fade away and become less apparent over time.
