In the open approach, the entire skin tissue is pulled up off the nose to allow for maximum exposure. This is the approach that most surgeons tend to prefer. The closed approach, on the other hand, doesn’t require any incisions to be made outside of the nose. This approach is most frequently used for people who have severely crooked noses or are getting rhinoplasty for revision purposes.
